During 1863 in SWITZERLAND, JULIUS MICHEAL JOHANNES MAGGI developed a formula to bring added taste to meals.This mark the beginning of the MAGGY BRAND and its lines of convenient food products in 1882.


This SWISS PUBLIC WELFARE SOCIETY commissioned Maggy to create a vegetable food product that would be quick to prepare and easy to digest. This literally solved the problem of women who have less time to prepare meal and have more and more outside work to perform..



The result -TWO INSTANT PEA SOUPS and AN INSTANT BEAN SOUPS were a huge success. By the turn of the centuary, MAGGY AND COMPANY were producing not only powered soups, but also Bouillon Cubes, Sauses and Flavouring.



MAGGY merged with NESTLE in 1947. Since then its offering have increased to such a large extend that now, this Brand is popular in  Australia, India, South Africa, Brazil, Nepal,New Zealand, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines. In several countries, it is also known as "maggi mee."
